Equipment

Our Academy uses state-of-the-art equipment from manufacturers committed to providing quality products for the esthetic industry.  We are pleased to offer our students exceptionally modern facilities and tools.  Our spa service equipment provides for ergonomic comfort, and our classroom is appointed with integrated video and audio equipment to facilitate learning via digital media.

Practical Spa Room

Our Practical Spa Room is designed as a professional spa service room, allowing our students to develop their skills in a real-life working setting, where our instructors ensure that all services are preformed to our standard.  Rooms can easily accommodate two clients, allowing couples or friends to experience spa services together.

Medi Spa Room

In our advanced Medi Spa Room, students utilize a multi-functional machine to perform microdermabrasion, light therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage of the face and body.  Our students learn to administer these services during the 600-hour Core Esthetics Course.  Progressive Courses in these techniques are also available for licensed professionals.

Skincare Products

We are the only esthetics school in the United States licensed to utilize the June Jacobs Spa Collection, a skincare line exclusive to 5-star hotels and resorts, and Peter Thomas Roth Clinic Skincare, a line that retails in medical spas, dermatologist offices, and high-end department stores.  Skincare products are available for sale and Makana’s students utilize these products in performing services in our Practical Spa Room.  Our students practice with luxury skincare products to reinforce the professional experience and to gain practical knowledge of the variety of products and services offered by resort spas.  Our clinical skincare line allows students to practice administering chemical peels, enzyme peels and acne treatments, which are commonly utilized in medical esthetics.

Uniform

Our students are provided with our exclusive uniforms, designed especially for Makana Academy.  The uniforms are comfortable and wear well during services.  Most importantly, our students gain confidence as they project the appearance of professional estheticians.
