Medical Esthetician
A licensed Esthetician with a concentration in the medical field primarily deals in cosmetic surgery. Such an esthetician may find their duties in a surgeonÕs office to include: performing routine preoperative and postoperative treatments, applying corrective makeup for patients with burns and disfigurements, administering chemical peels and laser hair removals, and educating clients on their skinsÕ needs. Areas of employment would include a dermatologist office, medi-spa, hospital or clinic, and skin laser center.

Makeup Artist
A makeup artist with a license in esthetics has a great advantage in the beauty field. Attaining a license shows the individualÕs commitment to the knowledge and education required in their field of esthetics. A license allows an esthetician to be marketable to an employer who can utilize the individual in several areas within the field. Makeup artists can find employment in salons, spas, department stores, dermatologist offices, medi-spas and as cosmetic buyers. This career choice is perfect for individuals with the desire and creativity to teach clients new techniques in makeup application and skincare.
