An Esthetician is a licensed skin care professional who provides preventive care for the skin and offers treatments to keep the skin healthy and attractive. Estheticians are also trained to detect skin problems that may require medical attention.

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is a prerequisite to enrollment in a Makana Esthetics Wellness Academy program, unless otherwise specified in the program outline.
  • Physician’s certification if student has any physical limitations to participate fully in clinical and practical treatments experience
  • Two forms of identification
  • A completed application with a $100 non-refundable application fee
  • A one page Essay about yourself and why you decided on the field of Esthetics.

When all information is received from the prospective student an interview process will be scheduled.

Tuition is all inclusive and includes a student kit with implements, uniforms, required curriculum for State licensing, as well as Makana’s proprietary protocols.

Applicants must attach required documents and a $100 application fee with completed application. The application will be considered incomplete without the necessary documents and deposit. Prospective students may submit the completed application and deposit first, and then submit the required documents separately. However, all documentation must be submitted no later than 14 calendar days prior to the start date of the selected program.
For the purpose of securing enrollment, completed applications may be submitted by fax to (808) 591-6092. However, students must still submit the original application (with original signatures), including all documentation and application deposits prior to the start of their program.
